Why Fox & Wren?

I'm often asked why I chose the name Fox & Wren, so I thought I'd introduce the 4 elements of my logo and share with you why they have special significance to me.

This is so much more than a business to me, it is an extension of who I am and comes from the heart.

The Fox & Wren logo, which I hand painted, has 4 elements; The Fox, The Wren, The Full Moon and The Lavender.

Red Fox: (Perhaps the most important element of my logo). I first connected with the energy of Fox at a Shamanic Dreaming Circle in my hometown of Perth in 2016. In my meditation, I connected so vividly and powerfully with this animal medicine that Fox has been one of my most treasured spirit animals ever since. Fast forward to 2019 to yet another Shamanic Journey, this time in Sedona, Arizona. Surrounded by 6 inspiring women and led by our powerful Shaman, we each journeyed to discover our spirit animal that had been with us since birth. Safe to say I received confirmation that day that Fox is my main spirit animal and had to be part of what is now Fox & Wren.

Blue Wren: Native to the South West region of Western Australia, the Splendid Fairy Wren is an iconic songbird treasured among locals and bird lovers alike. Witnessing these electric blue beauties darting amongst the trees is a special sight. They're one of my favourite birds and remind me of time spent on our family farm and yearly road trips to the South West region of WA. Often, when I spend time out in nature, I find a single small blue feather, which is always a positive sign for me from the universe.

Full Moon: I've always had a strong fascination with "La Luna". Not only is it the brightest and largest object in our night sky, it also causes tides and creates a rhythm that has guided humans for thousands of years. The moon was one of our ancestors' first markers of time, a guide for farming and an inspiration for folklore and mythology across the globe. Each phase of the moon reflects the natural seasons of life that are also within us. My wish is to keep our connection to these rhythms of nature alive by honouring the moons' cycles. Of course, I launched the Fox & Wren Online Store on a Full Moon.

Lavender: One of my favourite flowers, with its distinct fragrance and abundance of healing properties. Lavender to me is the Amethyst of the plant world. Such an all rounder for healing, best known for its calming properties. I love picking fresh lavender for my bedside, I also dry it in bunches so that I can smell its sweet fragrance all year round. It also has such nostalgia evoking a lot of vivid memories of my Nonna, of road trips down south with the smell of lavender in the air, of enjoying my first lavender ice cream in Provence and walking through lavender fields in the UK.
